  • iTunes 4.5

Apple released iTunes 4.5 today. It looks like the Windows version hasn't been updated yet, though; my update check in 4.2 thinks it is the latest version.

They're including a lossless codec now, which is cool.

Yeah, that is because Apple wants to shut down the FairPlay stuff...

I believe that alot of the changes with 4.5 are implemented in the store itself, not requiring an upgrade. I'm using 4.2 on windows as well, but I can still access the new movie trailers section and new music video section.

Yeah, there aren't many new features. But, they added this nice small feature that has a "snap back" button in the Now Playing box that will take you to the location of that source if you switch to a different one. Ie: You play a song in one play list and then you switch to another one, you can click this button and it takes you to the list in which the song started playing.

Yep, and they changed it so you can only burn the same playlist 7 times instead of 10 (I think) but you can authorize up to 5 computers to play purchased music

Is there DRM in the recorded AAC files from a cd?? Or is this downloaded music from the store?

                    Just music store ones.

Regular ripped AAC files are DRM-less.

I use iTunes but I haven't set it up on this computer yet. Could someone tell me how to download songs that I've purchased onto this computer, please? Thanks.
