you said it yourself.. your OS does everything you want and so you are happy. As long as you are happy with what you are using, who cares what OS you are running.. thus there is no need to use something in order to "try to be different" at all

A friend of mine installed it on his PowerBook. Although Dashboard is exceedingly cool (as isthe associated Core Image eye candy), I probably wouldn't use it just from the amount of crap you'd have running constantly in the background.

Also, he use Dock autohiding, and now when he moves the mouse to the edge of the screen, the Dock doesn't show up, which is a huge bug (at least that affects him).

I'm going to be installing it on my G4 Cube when I upgrade from a pitiful 128 MB of RAM to a decent 640 MB. I already got a Mac-flashed Radeon 9200 to replace the worthless stock Rage 128 that can't do Quartz Extreme. The processor is fast enough at 500 MHz--OS X runs quite nicely on slower hardware as I've experienced with my iBook G3.

As a side note, it's impossible to find a decent card that will fit in the Cube without moving stuff around or physically modifying it.

And, for the original thread, I now run:
                          • Windows XP Professional Edition (32-bit)
                          • Windows XP Tablet Edition (Professional with tablet-specific extras)
                          • Mac OS X 10.3.9, soon to be 10.4.0.

I wouldn't put Linux on my home system ever given it doesn't have Internet Explorer (needed for web page testing only), Photoshop (don't suggest the Gimp), Dreamweaver (haven't seen anything better yet), iTunes (I have an iPod and prefer iTunes as it is), any good FTP clients that I've seen, Visual Studio.net (I'm developing in C#), any new games at all, etc. It is far from ready for consumer desktop use. The only thing I like about it is the superior file structure instead of Windows' idiotic drive letters and vastly improved command consoles unlike Windows' horrible one. However, OS X has both of those in an easy to use package.
