Browsers will automatically condense multiple spaces to a single space as part of the HTML specifications. vBulletin doesn't take any consideration to change this behavior.

Hmm - so I have a problem with my board where any leading spaces are rendered as Â

That doesn't appear to be a problem here, so am trying to figure out the delta. Looking at the actual form post data, I see this on your forum as part of the form post:

Code:
Content-Disposition: form-data; name="text"

space
But on my forum I get this:

Code:
Content-Disposition: form-data; name="text"

 space
So it's not a storage issue. My forum was upgraded all the way from the original 3.x series. Looking at the JIRA tracker, I see there were some issues with the CKEditor involving the upgrade path. Perhaps that's the issue?

This is true on all browsers. I'm running 5.1.9

My bad - only Chrome is doing this. All other browsers are fine.
