  • Customising look of quote tag

    I have seen hacks for customising the quoute tag to have a nice table around it.

    Now, I just put in a simple table instead of the orginal <hr> tags and it worked fine. Have a look at my board http://www.echarcha.com/

    Now if I add one more table within this table to achieve a cool border effect, the who thing goes for a toss. Why so?

    I dont wish to make changes to original source code as suggested by the hack.

    Go to Admin CP > Custom vB Codes > Modify > Choose edit quote > Find the vB Code replacement and replace with this:

    Code:
    <table border="0" align="center" width="90%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td><smallfont>quote:</smallfont></td></tr></table><table border="1"><tr><td style="BORDER: #000000 1px solid; FONT-SIZE: 11px; COLOR: #000000; FONT-FAMILY: Verdana,Arial; BACKGROUND-COLOR: #D7D7D7;">{param}</td></tr></table>
    That'll give you a similar quote appearence.

          is there an easy way to alter this vb code so that the text inside the quote box is the same size as the text outside the quote box?

            Change 'smallfont' to 'normalfont'.

              thanks for the reply steve.....i did as you suggested and it didn't make a difference at all to the appearance of the box nor the text within. this is my code:
              Code:
              <blockquote>
              <normalfont>quote:</normalfont>
              <table border=1 cellpadding=1 cellspacing=0 bgcolor=#686868><tr><td>{param}
              </td></tr></table>
              </blockquote>
              what i'd like to do is have the text the same as it is with the standard quote, except rather than the lines i'd prefer to have the box around it. is this not possible? also, where can i find the original vb code for quotes?
