  • Table Borders Question

    Is there a way to get the table border to only be outside the major table rather than both outside and within it, i.e. so there wouldn't be borders between topics, etc.?

    try something like that:
    <table border=1><table border=0></table></table>

      I know what you mean

      Unfortunately that simple table code does not work. I have tried almost every table. Included some other code but nothing seems to work.

      I too have tried to get the appearance of a WHOLE table border without a background color and can't seem to do it. I was coming here to as one of the others and found this post. If I find out how or finally figure it out... I will re-post.

      Yes, I have hacked nearly every template and that too does not work.

      Cheers,
      Keh

        I figured it out...OK here goes.

        Go to your ACP (admin control panel)
        Go to your templates and modify. Expand the List.
        Expand the list for Forum Home Page Templates
        Edit the ForumHome

        Between the <body> tag and $header variable add the following table information.

        <table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="1" bordercolor="6b317b" width="760">
        <tr><td>

        I have added the color to match mine and I also have a fixed width. Those can be left out.

        Next go to the bottom of this file and between the $footer variable and the </body> tag add these lines.

        </td>
        </tr>
        </table>

        SAVE your template.

        Cheers,
        Kehf
