      Thank You!

      Thanks xiphoid! I always prefer a Template edit to a hack and I found a post that you made on vbulletin.org which lead me here. Your edit was described excellently and it was a cinch to add it to my board.

      I'd show it off, but it's private.

      Thanks again!

            I am happy to hear that everything is ok and works for you all. Your boards look good with this little tweak.

              Hey Xiphoid

              I posted a thread in the Trouble Shooting section asking this, but thought I would ask you as well. Especially since I had such great success with your hack.

              Is there a way to get this indicator to behave like the indicator within the pm contol panel?

              For example, at the moment, after viewing a pm, the indicator next to the message reflects that it has been read, whilst the animated one on the main board still shows a new message pending even though there are none.

              I would believe that there HAS to be away to relate these two to each other, or apply the same logic to the main board indicator as has been coded for the inner one.

              Let me know when you can.

              Thanks,
              Illu

                I may have to remove this....

                I really realy like have this feature. But I may have to remove it, if I can't get this bug sorted out.

                It's notifiying me that I have a new PM allright, but unless I do something with it, ie. move, delete, or forward. When I go back to the main board the indiactor is still going off as if there is a new PM, when in fact there isn't!!

                The text shows "0 unread messages" even!!

                Help me, help me help me pleaaase!!

                Thanks

                  WHOO Friggin HOO!!

                  Nevermind!!

                  I fixed it myself!!

                  All I did was alter the index.php from this:
                  PHP Code:
                     if ($newpm['messages']==0) {

                  $lightbulb='off';
                    } else {

                  $lightbulb='on'
                  to this:

                  PHP Code:
                     if ($unreadpm['messages']==0) {

                  $lightbulb='off';
                    } else {

                  $lightbulb='on'
                  that makes the indicator key off of unread messages instead of new ones!!

                  hehehe

                    Posting code modifications wasn't 'allowed' on this forum, so I didn't post the fix, nor tried to make one. Sorry. I am happy that you fixed it.

                        I have seen the mods point this out a few times, so .. just in case :P

                        template alts are supported and allowed on vbulletin.com
                        all code changes should go through vbulletin.org

                        I am not trying to be rude, sorry

                          Ahh...no worries mate....

                          I spend most of my time over at .org, so I haven't ran across any of the mod warnings But, don't get me wrong, I am very gratefull for the support from both sites, and didn't mean to imply that YOU were being rude, but I had originally posted that I was having a problem awhile back and was just a little frustrated as there was no reponse.

                          But your reasons for not replying were valid, and actually forced me to learn something, so all is right with the world!!

                          Thanks again,
                          Illu
