  • Finally switched from ubb to a new great style:)

I had finally switched the boards to vbulletin successfully. Actually I was having many thoughts about the chance of a total failure, but everything proved to be different. It was very easy

Now the board have a total new style, including some new graphics ( thanks KeithMCL ), which I would like to hear some opinions from all the experts round here.

The link to the forums is http://www.siteownersforums.com .

Finally, I didn't have the chance to thank all people of vbulletin for their great software. Keep up the good work!

    Thank you,
    John Nousis.

Another great board, well done. Saw eva2000 already there hehe..

One little question for you. I see you have it set up to work at http://www.forums.siteowners.com and http://www.siteownersforums.com

what did you need to put in httpd.conf to get it to work like that, ie for the subdomain to mirror the domain name like that (or the other way round). I want to change my domain name (thanks TWTCommish) but would like to do this in the meantime.

    Thanks.

      Hello,
Actually there are two ways to do that. Either edit your httpd.conf file and use a <virtualhost> in order to setup a subdomain like forums.xxxxx.com or edit the DNS zone files ( that's what I did ) and insert a Machine name, in order to forward all requests made to subdomain.xxxxxx.com to anewdomain.com . If you need any help with that do not hesitate to contact me.

        hi thanks.

I would prefere to do it with the virtualhost command if possible, would that work exactly like your does.

If so, what would I need to add into the <virtualhost> tag to do this?

If you can refer me to a page of apache.org that is fine, i just couldn't find anything really going through it and my book on this stuff dosen't either.

        Thanks.

I agree.... colors are nice and clean. Glad to hear you're happy with vB

BTW, which forums ISN'T Eva active on???

Chris, there is a good thread here: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showt...?threadid=3395 about adding those subdomains in Apache.
