  • How to create my own .style file?

I 've having trouble with using someone else's .style file. I just can't open it up. It always says invalid style file.

So, I am gonna build my own. wanna know how to start!

    Thanks.

First, you'll need to create a new Style. To do this, in the Control Panel, go to Styles -> Create New Style. It's best to create a new Replacement and Template Set for each individual Style. This way, you can get more customization out of each one.

Replacement Set (fonts, colors, etc) + Template Set (the boards layout) = Style

Now, to change the colors of your style. Go to Styles -> Modify -> Your Style's Name -> [fonts/colors/etc].

Once you got a color scheme going that you like, you're gonna want to go to Templates -> Modify -> Your Style's Name -> Expand List. Here, you can edit the templates used with your style. It'll take some time to get used to the template system, how it works and where everything is. But once you get the hang of it, it's a breeze! One tip to make this easier on you, in the vBulletin Options, go to the Template Settings. Select 'Yes' to Add template name in comments. This way, you can view the source code of any page, and it'll tell you where every template resides.

If there's any custom replacements you want to use, go to Replacements -> Modify -> Your Style's Name -> [add custom replacement]. This is so that you can use something like {yourcustomimage} in your templates, and have it be replace by <img src="images/yourecustomimage.gif"> while viewing the page.

    Hope that helps!

one more thing, how can I change the "new style 01" style to default, that means for every new comer to my forum, they will have the "new style 01" style for them.

          how to do it?
