Edit Standard Registration labels

Hey All

Is there (e.g. a template) anywhere I can edit the field labels for the *standard* registration screen or am I looking at direct DB changes? I want to change things such as "Referrer" to "Who referred you to this site?" I just can't seem to find anything, it's just not "jumping" out at me....
