Ok, got the right styevar, just had to change the colour to transparent

Do a Search in Templates for ".threadbit .discussionrow" and you should find the stylevar.

I'm starting to redo some of my previous themes, this one is one of the older Tomkinson.org themes. Could someone kindly point me to the stylevar to edit for this one section?
