    That's the one that I tried to edit, but it didn't work. Maybe I'll try again...

    I tried to edit the forumdisplay template but the code is different than the forumhome template. It kept making the cell green. Any ideas of what to replace and what code to replace it with?

    Thanks for responding.

      thats because the table cells under a specific category are really two embedded table cells. You need to insert that code twice, as shown:

      Code:
      <tr align="center">
      	<td bgcolor="{ firstaltcolor}" align="left" onMouseOver="this.style.backgroundColor='{ secondaltcolor}'; this.style.cursor='hand';" onMouseOut="this.style.backgroundColor='{ firstaltcolor}';" onclick="window.location.href='forumdisplay.php?s=$session[sessionhash]&forumid=$forum[forumid]'" valign="top" colspan="2">
      	<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0">
      	<tr>
      		<td valign="top"><img src="{ imagesfolder}/$forum[onoff].gif" border="0" alt=""></td>
      		<td><img src="images/clear.gif" width="9" height="1" alt=""></td>
      		<td bgcolor="{ firstaltcolor}" align="left" onMouseOver="this.style.backgroundColor='{ secondaltcolor}'; this.style.cursor='hand';" onMouseOut="this.style.backgroundColor='{ firstaltcolor}';" onclick="window.location.href='forumdisplay.php?s=$session[sessionhash]&forumid=$forum[forumid]'"><a href="forumdisplay.php?s=$session[sessionhash]&forumid=$forum[forumid]"><normalfont><b>$forum[title]</b></normalfont></a><br>
      		<smallfont>$forum[description]</smallfont></td>
      	</tr>
      	</table>
      	</td>
      	<td bgcolor="{ secondaltcolor}"><normalfont>$forum[replycount]</normalfont></td>
      	<td bgcolor="{ firstaltcolor}"><normalfont>$forum[threadcount]</normalfont></td>
      	<td bgcolor="{ secondaltcolor}"><smallfont>$forum[lastpostinfo]</smallfont></td>
      	<td bgcolor="{ firstaltcolor}"><smallfont>$forum[moderators]</smallfont></td>
      </tr>
      Remember to remove the spaces in { firstaltcolor} and { secondaltcolor}, and that should work...

        Aha!

        I was just about to respond and tell you that it wasn't working but then I saw the last part of your message telling me to remember to take out those spaces. Aha! I had forgotten to do that.. again.

        It doesn't work in Netscape. No biggie.

        Thanks much.

                  If you dont use categorys, both forumhome_forumbit_level1_post and forumhome_forumbit_level2_post, if you use categories, and only one level deap on forumhome, just forumhome_forumbit_level2_post. play around with the templates, if you mess up, you can go back

                    I just got a licence, did what you said and ... what am supposed to find besides pages and pages of manual? Is there a quick guide section that I am missing?

                      When you click that link, it first prompts you for your customer # and password (which was emailed to you by vBulletin when you purchased the license), after you enter that, the actual page loads and you enter up to 3 user names (for the boards) so that you and anybody you trust can have access to these forums and receive help. This shows that you are a licensed vBulletin customer, and therefore you can recevie help. Don't put anybody on that user name list besides yourself unless you completely trust them with your license.

                              Man, this is depressing. I just cant get it to work. And I am pretty fluent with vBulletin.

                              Guys, if this thread isn't dead, what is the easiest way to do this?

                              If no spaces were needed in certain code, why were they not posted with the appropriate code already?

                              I love this effect, and want to add it, but can anyone tell me how its done. I read everything in this thread, and tried everything, to no avail.

                              I am certain, I am doing something wrong.

                              Thanks for any replies.

                                Has anyone tried contacting the webmaster(s) of www.charmed-boards.com? I'm sure they would help out if they can.
