  • I can't get my skin to look right

Can anyone help me figure out how to fix my skin. When I downloaded the skin my forum got all messed up. Looks like the side bar went to the bottom of the page and the forum names to the top. I went to vB forum and found some bad comments in their forum. Anyone had bad experience with vBComplete? I tired contacting them but still waiting.

I appreciate any help anyone can give me.

but it is supposed to look more like

http://vbcomplete.com/support/ and select vsioncollision on the style.

vbcomplete.com/support/ is not the website that belongs to the quality designers of vBulletin skins. You have been bamboozled. You should have gone here: http://www.completevb.com/support/ You should have checked the website and looked around some before you plunked your money down.

PS: I am going to report that site to vBulletin as a porn site and possible piracy.

WTF? How does this BS help to solve the problem? Get a life, if you can't help, then keep it to yourself but don't sidetrack the guy with your own maniacal bullsh*t. The writer CLEARLY made a typo in his reference.

Fastip referenced vbcomplete twice - once in the first paragraph and next as a URL. He/she also mentioned the "bad comments in their forum." If you follow that link, you will see that there is a website full of bad comments. That site has ripped off Complete vB by not only stealing and selling their skins, but also copying their forum layout and some of their content. It's blatant theft.

How unfortunate it is that you seem to be protecting the piracy and theft of hard working people like iTechno and Matt, of Complete vB, who are some of the few skin designers that offer a product that doesn't break the default vBulletin validation. And when they do, they fix it.

I thought the issue of possible vBulletin piracy, allowing porn to be posted on their forum and the blatant thievery - right down to claiming they were the designers - was important enough to report them to vBulletin Piracy Reports. I also took the time to send a message to Matt. If you think protecting Fastip, vBulletin and the real Complete vB is maniacal BS, you need to think seriously about surrendering your own copy of vB because you certainly don't deserve it. I do appreciate you showing your true colors though. You apparently care so little about anyone that you will strike out at those who do.

If you had tried to analyze the problem instead of jumping to the conclusion that the software was pirated, you might have learned something. Actually, I usually take the high road and give people the benefit of a doubt, unlike most of the piracy zealots do. I don't see pirates in every post nor to I make any "assumptions" about their authenticity like a fair number, more than usual I think, of misguided and misinformed pirate nazis do. I have been working in Commercial Software for nearly thirty years and in ALL the positions I have ever held Support is the number one priority, not whether the software is pirated or not. To your point, I am proud to say that after all the time in the business, I can honestly say that I an NOT a software piracy nazi not do I even hope to be one any time soon. Every thing in moderation. You may considered this point, though I am sure you won't "get it", even if this was for sure an request from an illicit site which I an sure it is not, but suppose that it was. The problem described is for sure a real problem that other legal license holder could easily encounter. Blowing this one off, leaves ALL future occurrences of this problem in the dark, same as you left this one. THAT, my friend is BAD support but if you post the answer to the problem you have provided a service for all the other people who encounter similar problems like this one. Reporting a pirate, if you are so inclined, is a separate activity that should be take off line and has nothing at all to do with providing good support or not.

Incidentally, I am running the SAME Style on MY own site that I paid CompleteVB for and just two days received an update for it via an email form them, does that make me a pirate too, would you like to see my paypad receipt before you answer the question?

Oh, by the way, the problem is most likely a link or statement blowing the side out of the <div> container on this style, in case you are interested.

Just for the record, I didn't check any links except the one for the site that has the problem. My comments a related only to the level of "support" provided, not to whether or not the links go to a pornographic site, don't know anything about that...

you might just have to revert the skin.

Google up vb skins and then have a look around you might have to look at some other skins.
Also sign up with vbulletin.org and then you can select some awesome things for your site.

              vbplusme,

You seem to be clueless about this. You bought and paid for the style from the right place, Fastip didn't. Fastip linked to the site they got their style from and they tried to get support from that site. Have you known there to be much of a wait time for support from Complete vB? No, but vB Complete doesn't answer anyone. How much more coincidence do you need to realize that Fastip prob'ly did stumble in and buy stolen software?

I'm not going to argue with you. Your pedigree not withstanding, you have attacked me unprofessionally for what I hoped was the appropriate support to Fastip, vBulletin and the owners of Complete vB. I am NOT going to help someone fix stolen software. I realize it was not Fastip that stole it and I don't fault that person. But I did provide a link to the site that actually designed that style and I hope they will help Fastip out.

If you don't like what I have done, then that's too bad. Report me. If you have a better solution for Fastip, then provide it. Otherwise, this discussion is over.

Sounds like that both websites should be reported for piracy if you are having a lot of problems.
By doing this it will give both websites a kick up the backside.
No need to be rude Jim. However, you should report the website for not doing their job.

What both sites? Apparently, the badguys are not even represented. We have a victim and a site that is broken. I did a diff of the site against my site and the software that is installed on FastIP appears to be the real deal though it appears he got it from an illicit source. It is a rock and a hard place for sure but why does the victim need to be further victimized?

Complete VB needs to put the vbComplete site out of business by filling an official complaint against them. Most ISP are willing to cooperate with DMCA issues which this is clearly. I had NO IDEA that the CompleteVB site was being blatantly ripped off. That vBComplete is operating with total impunity is truly amazing.

Report them for piracy. From what I am reading the guys who you went with were a bit dodgey.

                        Calm down. It's ok.
email one of the support guys through this email address [email protected] with the details of what you have just explained to us in here.
Also when you send that email to the guys, put in the website that you got the skin from and then how much it cost you.
You need to report both sites for piracy so that vB can deal with them.

So you are saying report the badguy site AND the site that purchased and installed the counterfeit style?

I disagree. Complete vB is a legitimate vBulletin skin design business and they do very high quality work and offer great support. The site that Fastip got their skin from was vbcomplete.com, a website owned by a company in Jakarta, Indonesia. Fastip's website was registered by Chris Cogan, of Defiance, OH and appears to be legit. So, we are talking about only one suspected (in my opinion) piracy website - or at the very least, one that allows porn to be viewed by any visitor, which is against the policies of vBulletin.

I was not victimizing Fastip. I did what I thought was best. I provided the information they needed to take action against vBComplete (although chances are, that will be futile) and I provided a link to the real designer's website in hopes that they might find a way to resolve their problem. You could have offered additional help, instead of attacking me for giving the help that I did. It's not unusual for one person to offer additional support options, but it's uncalled for to bash me for doing what I felt was ethically responsible.

Since you didn't know, it might be quite possible that Complete vB didn't know. They wouldn't be able to affect legal action if they weren't aware of the situation. I made them aware, on the chance that someone else hadn't yet. But you attacked me for it.

                            Thanks.
