  • How can I change the look of the boxes?

    http://www.maxforums.org/forum/forum.asp?t=62968&r=0

Read the first post. Its worded exactly the way I would say it it.

What I would like to do, is change all the fields and dropdown boxes on my forum, meaning the subject, the typing field everything. Can someone tell me how to do it, even if its possible?

Change them? Is it the colors you want to change or ...?

I guess you mean, making dropdown boxes and the like 2d as well.

From memory, this isnt posible with the current version browsers.

Unless you use flash or something, i dont think its posible.

      Sorry

        I'm afraid merk is right.
And I think the same thing applies for radio buttons.

The only thing that is changeable for those are the background colors.

Dammit. Theres NO way at all unless its flashed (which isnt feasable anyway)?. Is changing the box to make it look 2d really that impossible? Why?

Well as far as every site Ive found regarding this, the codes for normal box changes do not work on the drop down. And no one knows any codes for it, (If they even exist). Im sure newer browsers will start having ways, but for now it sucks.

Trust me man, it sucks. My freelance forum uses dropdowns and they look stupid because they do not match the rest.

Current CSS Standard Version 2 doesnt provide the functionality to peform what you are after.

Maybe wait for IE v7, they may add some nonstandard stuff

Ok. If not the dropdowns, how about the boxes like what Im typing in now. Is it possible for that?

                          Nope.

Text area also doesnt support this.

(Windows XP's version of IE6 is close to 2d, but still has shadows)

When i get time, ill double check this really good book ive got for CSSv2(its called Core CSS published by Schengili-Roberts)

I would also recomend if you go out to buy this book, look for anotherone called Core PHP Programming Second Edition, it is a very excelent book.
