Change Header

I'm new to the whole vBulletin and would like to know how to change the header of my forum. After my initial research, I changed the ad_header by adding an image in my default template and saved it, but nothing happened.. is there another step after this so that I can see my header?

No you don't need change the ad_header template' but your change should be in header template' between these 2 codes:
<!-- logo --> and <!-- /logo -->

What in the header are you trying to change?

If you are only trying to change the Image (banner) you do so here:
AdminCP -> Styles and Templates -> Style Manager -> Style Vars -> Place the URL location of the image in "Title Image"
