Animated Smilies

Hey everybody,

I'm a new vBulletin supporter, just got my first board a couple of days ago!!! My question is this, most of the users of my boards are young people, and they have followed me over from my old, crappy boards, but, at my old board we had animated Smilies, and my members are kind of comfortable with them... I run a board for young people who get a big kick out of them. Anyone here know if vB has more of these Smilies that actually move? I like the depth of these, I just need more to keep my people happy... Thanks much...

After reading many of these helpful posts, it seems like you guys are very supportive of each other... It's nice to find that sort of thing these days!

First of all, welcome.

As for your question - you can find hundreds (if not more!) of smilies, some are animates, here.

It's possible to add smilies to your board, so you won't have a problem. If you need further help on this issue, feel free to ask.

uploading multiple smileys

I've asked this question about avatars, and I'll ask it about smileys. If i have a huge set of them, can I upload them all at once? with the names being the filename?

I don't know about earlier versions, but in v2.0.3 you can select a folder to upload multiple smilies from, and you will then recieve a list of them, with a checkbox next to every one.
(Admin cp => Smilies => Add => Add multiple smilies)

Boy I sure wish someone had a huge zip file of all the smileys they've collected over the years.

anyways, I know mysmilies.com has a bunch of smileys, but like, how can you download them? and not just link them to your site via [img] headers

Thanks for the info... Unfortunately, most of the sites I've found using searchs and so forth, all require that I link to their smilies, and I just assume not do that. I'd rather add them to my "smilies" folder on my own server. Also, if I do that, will the new smilies appear in the "Smilies" window box that shows up beneath the "Your Reply:" line in the Post Reply window?

P.S. I never did find any cool animated smilies though. I like the smilies that this newer version of vBulletin has... They have depth and don't look too cartoony!

animated smilies stop animation once selected??

I have a problem with animated smilies. When I select one from the selection box or the pop-up window, all the animated smilies stop their animation. I've heard that it's the browsers (IE, Navigator)that's doing that. Is there any way at all to fix this problem, or is there absolutely no remedy?
