Need some simple style advice

OK, I have a dumb question on styles.

I have certain styles that I like, but I really don't like the "boxy" look that most styles use for the forum listing and thread listing. By "boxy" I mean the visible table border and the alternating colors of columns. To me, it just screams "unmodified default style." As I mentioned before, I really like what they did at http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/

What do I edit to get rid of these particular table borders?

Well it looks like rather than using different color for alt1 alt2 and tborder they used the same color for all three. Do that and you will have the same effect.

It's not really a border, it's cellspacing.

Admin CP -> Style Manager -> Stylevars ->

Find Inner Border Width.

Set it to 0.

That website is still using the cellspacing though.
