  • different styles for a forum according to entrypoint

    Hi there.

I need some help ASAP !

Basically, one of my forums is going to be partnered with another site.

We want it, so that if the user has come from the partner's site, the colours are different to the default set.

    Should I make a new forumdisplay.php?

Whats the best way to do this ?

    Thanks
    J

Create a new styleset with your partner's color and images (hint put them in a different folder and point vBulletin there).

Then in his link to the forums simply put:
    http://yourdomain.com/forum/index.php?styleid=X

Where X equals the id number of the style assigned to that partner.

vbulletin 2.0 references images through an imagesfolder replacement variable. You can place different images in different folder and point the replacement variable to this new folder. This will make changing images easier.

            couple of problems

            a) I have made a new style sheet "skratch" - with a different header to the default. However, if I change one, it seems to change them both.

            b) Using index.php?styleid=2 doesn't seem to work.

            Thanks again,
            James

The same thing is happening for me and it is driving me CRAZY ....

I have made a new style and whenever I change it , it change the default too ?

Do you have to start from the vb default template set to creat a new style..

I figured I could set the template and replacement options to default on the new style and then change from my current format ?

You need to create a new replacement set (for colors) and templateset (for template changes) for you Style Set....

wluke, thanks for the advice, but it still doesn't solve my 2 problems,

                    a) using styleid=X doesn't work

                    b) changing one header/footer/colour changes the other - and yes I do have a different replacement set for each style.

                    Thanks again,
                    James
