    vBulletin Asset Manager Demo #2

Here is the second demo of the asset manager. I was under a hurry so please bear with me. The screencast recorder seems to have a few issues as my audio was cut off in a few places.

I also forgot to mention that you can resize each of the panels by dragging the borders.

A contenttype is any content that supports attachments. In vB3 this would be posts, blog entries, and albums.

In vB4 this is posts, blog entries, albums, social groups, and the CMS.

Albums have been changed so that the process by which you add pictures to an album utilizes the asset manager, or the older upload form, instead of the current method of a simple page with three upload fields.

Social Groups are receiving the same work, so that you can add pictures to groups without having to input a URL from an existing album picture. You can choose from any of your existing assets, those that are pictures that is.
      This is great improvement.

Freddie where do you think we can see it integrated all together. If i am not mistaken first beta will not have this option. So which version should we expect this at ?

Looks much better now, BUT I think that using Flash for multiple uploads is a very bad idea.

      Just use AJAX:
      http://developer.yahoo.com/yui/uploader/
      http://www.uploadify.com/

It looks much better and does not require the user to have Flash enabled.

Eh? exc1te, april fools has been and gone. Is your post a joke?

I thought everyone knew that YUI and uploadify and in fact most of the latest generation of user friendly uploaders indeed require flash.

To re-cap..... you are telling vbulletin not to use flash. You then give two url's for them to consider as alternatives... both of which REQUIRE flash.

Can you see the irony here or were you perhaps asleep when you posted?
