So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish

I originally got involved with vBulletin as one of the initial beta testers, way back in March/April 2000. I started writing some modifications for the vB 1.1 series (the member list and the PM system came from my code originally), and at the end of 2000, I was brought on to help with development of vB 2.0. Aside from a short period where I focused on my university studies, I've been involved in vB's development since then. Many of you probably know that I even relocated from the US to the UK 3 years ago to work with Kier, Scott, and Ashley in person.

However, I've decided that it's time for me to move on and pursue other goals.

I'd like to thank Jelsoft for giving me the opportunity to work on vBulletin. Generally, it's been a good 9 years. I've learned more things in that time than I could have imagined, and being able to see my work all over the internet in the shape of your websites is a very cool feeling indeed.

I'm sure you'll still be able to find me online. I try to stay involved with the PHP community, and a few vB'ers have already found me on Twitter... though I should get more involved with both.

So to borrow a famous line, so long and thanks for all the fish.

    Mike

I am serious. No need to be “good guy” for everybody on the board. If Mike made a decision to go, than He just should go without all this crap by now on 4-5 pages from people who know him no more than me.
If Mike done something for VB core, it is his achievement that for today no doubt VB is a most popular and leading forum software.
Problem is that new Forum Admins/Prospective Clients may not quite understand this and can get an assumption from this blog that some of the best stuff running away from VB leaving it abandoned. (Read the posts above-Everybody here is like attending a funeral)

It would be nice to read farewell from VB stuff as from solid team ONLY!

Tungsten: I am a proud forum Admin of 4 boards(1 DB based on VB) for more thn 10years. May I suggest to you to be a bit more positive?!

Those kind of blog posts should be deleted as they damage vbulletin credentials... IMO
Maybe when you've learned the difference between should have and should of, you can start insulting other people on the internet. Until then, don't let your parents catch you on their computer.

Globus, that is a disgusting thing to say, I'm sure you'd like it if you were in Mike's shoes and I in yours?
