This guide will help Admins to create and edit sections within their vBulletin CMS. Sections are used to organize your articles, build menus and apply layouts to your content.

On a new installation of the Publishing Suite you will have permission to do this by default. However, if you don't see the 'Section Manager in AdminCP > vBulletin CMS, then you will need to edit your user account Admin permissions to ensure the following are set to 'Yes':

- Can Administer vBCms
- Can Administer vBCms Permissions

Create A Section

To create a Section, simply click on the Section Manager link:

Here you will see your default 'Home' Section and any other sections that have been created in your CMS. To add a new Section:

1. Press the 'Add New Section' button at the top right of the screen. This will bring up a 'Edit Section' pop-up along with a 'tree listing' of your current Section structure. In the field marked 'Enter a Section Title', enter the title of the new Section you wish to create then press 'Save':

By default, all Sections become 'children' of the default Home Section. When you first add a Section, you will see the green tick ( ) beside the Home Section name. This denotes that the Section you're creating will be a child of that Section.

Once you've added at least one Section, you can then add Sub-Sections to these. To do this:

2. Press the 'Add New Section' button at the top right of the screen again. As before, this will bring up the 'Edit Section' pop-up. You will now see the Section(s) you previously created:

To create a Sub-Section, simply enter the title of the new Section you're creating but do not press Save yet! You need to denote which existing Section you're creating your new Sub-Section in. To do this, click on the link beside the Section name - you will now see the green tick move to that Section. Now press Save.

NOTE: The Section Manager only shows the current Section you're in plus it's immediate Sub Sections. If you create a three-level Section system, for example:

Home
> Section 1
> > Sub-Section 1

...to be able to view it in full, you should click on the 'Change Section' button to bring up the Section Navigator window:

After you've finished creating your Sections, make sure that they're all published (or leave as Unpublished if you want to hide them until you have content available). This can be done from the main Section Manager Window:
